PART I: SUMMARY OF POSITION

This position serves in a building leadership role for the staff SEL initiatives, including support in implementation of wellness and self-care activities.

PART II: MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

A. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

General Experience

• Certified employee of the district for at least four full years.

Education

B. CREDENTIALS:

• Has received at least a proficient evaluation rating during the last evaluation cycle
• Demonstrates leadership abilities
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• Has excellent attendance on professional development days
• Is willing and able to participate in and organize wellness and self-care activities that may take place during non-school hours/days.

C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of and respect for the diverse backgrounds (cultural, linguistic, environmental) of staff and how these characteristics affect the staff's life and learning;
• Strong interpersonal and social skills;
• Organizational and creative skills;
• Verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to assist and reinforce elements that support a safe, healthy, and effective staff wellness and self-care environment;
• Ability to assist in adapting wellness and self-care strategies and materials according to the needs of the staff;
• Ability to establish and maintain rapport with staff;
• Ability to follow oral and written direction of program administrator, seeking clarification as needed;
• Ability to motivate staff to improve their wellness and self-care skills;
• Ability to use strategies that promote the staff's wellness and self-care;
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and administration.

PART III: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Demonstrates and understanding of wellness and self-care for adults;
• Attends additional training provided by the district dealing with SEL, trauma, and restorative practices;
• Participates in staff meetings with school administrators by leading community circles and/or Calm Classroom activities;
• Serves as spokesperson for staff wellness and self-care with building staff;
• Facilitates school wellness and self-care activities including community circles for staff, monthly wellness bulletin boards, quarterly wellness Friday's; wellness activities on professional development days, and personalized notes to staff;
• Collaborates bi-weekly with Wellness Coaches, school and district administrator to ensure staff are knowledgeable about wellness and self-care activities;
• Provides support for new staff members;
• Coordinates with building and district administration to develop and implement "staff celebration and social activities;"
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
