Requirements / Qualifications
Under the direction of the Director of Student and Family Services, the Wellness Coordinator will oversee the implementation of districtwide mental health services for all TK-12 schools. Responsibilities include providing weekly supervision and training to pre-licensed mental health services staff; cultivating collaborative partnerships with universities that have graduate programs in social work; offering prevention and intervention mental health services through consultation and workshops for school staff and parents, in addition to direct services to students with intensive needs. This position is also responsible for providing crisis counseling services and coordinating services with community agencies in providing mental health therapy, substance abuse counseling, and other mental health services
A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work Three years providing children and family mental health services in a diverse urban education or social service setting. Two years of providing supervision to pre-licensed mental health services professionals according to the guidelines of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
