Description: Nichols Village-Bethany Community Services is seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Wellness Coordinator to support the health and well-being of residents. This position plays a vital role in helping older adults age in place by coordinating wellness initiatives, serving as a trusted healthcare resource, and connecting residents and families with the services they need to maintain their independence and quality of life. The ideal candidate is a licensed RN or LPN or closely related professional, who enjoys building relationships, collaborating across departments, and promoting healthy aging through education, wellness programming, and individualized support. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule fitness classes, wellness programs, and health education opportunities for residents. Organize guest speakers and educational programs on wellness, healthy aging, and medical topics. Plan and coordinate annual flu clinics and other vaccination clinics as needed. Welcome and orient new residents to wellness and fitness programs. Meet individually with residents to discuss health concerns, wellness goals, and available resources. Encourage resident participation in wellness activities that support healthy aging and independence. Serve as a liaison between residents, families, and the Coordinated Home Care Program. Assist residents and families with home care coordination and referrals to physicians, rehabilitation services, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, memory care, hospice, and other community resources. Collaborate with Maintenance, Dining, Marketing, Activities, and other departments to ensure coordinated resident services. Respond to the Emergency Call System while in the building and maintain emergency call documentation and updates. Coordinate CPR and AED training for staff and provide orientation to emergency procedures. Educate staff on topics related to aging, resident wellness, and healthcare best practices. Maintain resident confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and the organization's Written Information Security Policy (WISP). Requirements: Background & Qualifications (Preferred not required) A current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license. Three to five years of wellness coordination, nursing or related experience. CPR and AED certification/ willingness to certify upon hire. A valid driver's license. Experience working with older adults or senior living communities (preferred) . An associate's or bachelor's degree in Nursing, Social Work, Gerontology, or a related field; equivalent nursing experience will be considered. Knowledge of community resources, supportive services, and care coordination. Strong organizational, communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and internet applications. The ability to work independently while building collaborative relationships with residents, families, staff, and community partners. Additional Duties Participate in weekly administrative meetings. Maintain continuing education requirements to support Massachusetts nursing licensure. Conduct local outreach and networking to establish relationships with healthcare providers and referral partners. Support departmental operations and perform other duties as assigned.
