What You'll Do

As the Wellness Coordinator, you'll design and lead programs that help residents live healthier, happier, and more connected lives.

Program Development & Resident Engagement

  • Develop, coordinate, and lead engaging wellness programs based on resident interests and needs

  • Encourage resident participation and involvement in program planning

  • Create opportunities for lifelong learning, social engagement, and healthy living

  • Evaluate program effectiveness and resident satisfaction, making improvements as needed

Health & Wellness Programming

Lead or coordinate activities such as:

  • Exercise and fitness classes

  • Nutrition and healthy living workshops

  • Stress management and relaxation programs

  • Health fairs and wellness events

Lifelong Learning Opportunities

Coordinate programs such as:

  • Computer and technology classes

  • Arts and crafts workshops

  • Book clubs

  • Bible studies

  • Educational seminars and guest speakers

Social & Community Activities

Plan and facilitate:

  • Birthday celebrations and resident events

  • Movie, theater, and community outings

  • Volunteer opportunities

  • Special events and overnight trips

  • Community engagement activities

Resident Transportation & Support

  • Safely transport residents using the Village van or bus

  • Assist residents with transportation to appointments, shopping, banking, and social activities

Administrative & Marketing Responsibilities

  • Maintain wellness program records and data management systems

  • Create newsletters, calendars, flyers, brochures, and promotional materials

  • Develop presentations and communications that encourage resident participation

  • Maintain the Fitness Center and conduct orientation sessions for new users

Community Partnerships

  • Build relationships with local organizations and community partners

  • Collaborate with Village staff to provide comprehensive wellness opportunities for residents

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate's Degree in Wellness, Health Promotion, Recreation Management, or a related field
    OR

  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Strong organizational and event-planning skills

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

  • Experience coordinating activities, recreation, wellness, or community programs

  • Comfort using Microsoft Office, email, presentations, and digital communications

  • A genuine passion for serving older adults and promoting healthy aging

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience in senior living, recreation, wellness, community programming, or health promotion

  • Experience creating newsletters, flyers, calendars, or promotional materials

  • Experience driving passenger vans or coordinating group outings
