TITLE: Wellness Peer Educator

HOURS NEEDED PER WEEK: 10-15
DATES OF EMPLOYMENT: Fall 2026-Spring 2027
GENERAL SUMMARY: As part of the Wellness Center's Health Promotion efforts, a Wellness Peer Educator is dedicated to the development and implementation of health education, which includes the design, presentation, and evaluation of campaigns, workshops, and activities for DU student wellbeing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and develop health education programs using a variety of instructional methods, such as group discussions, presentations, and interactive activities.
- Design and implement promotional strategies for health education events and initiatives, ensuring effective outreach across the campus community.
- Facilitate and deliver health education and well-being programs to students, groups, and other campus or community settings.
- Conduct research to support program development, utilizing both campus and community resources, including online tools, and subject matter experts.
- Assist in creating and implementing program evaluation methods and needs assessments, including engagement with students via Suitable.
- Contribute to the development of health promotion materials, such as social media marketing, bulletin boards, posters, brochures, and other digital content.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, and community partners to expand health education opportunities and promote wellness initiatives.
- Support the planning and execution of health awareness campaigns.
- Maintain a consistent work schedule, including participation in regular team meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of program goals and organizational needs.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including some level of comfort and/or enjoyment with public engagement and presentations.

- Strong collaboration skills AND ability to work independently.
- Some flexibility in time availability for outreach events occurring in the evenings and weekends.
- Fluency in another language in addition to English is a plus
- Creative use of technologies in creating promotional materials (e.g., flyers, social media posts, videos)
OFFICE HOURS AND SCHEDULE:
- The center operates Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Due to the nature of Health Promotions campaigns and events, this position requires the Peer Educator to be primarily on-site. Requests for partial remote work may be considered on a case-by-case basis with prior approval.
- This role offers a flexible schedule, allowing individuals to select their working hours within the center's operating timeframe.
