Are you a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse who enjoys health education, preventative care, and making a positive impact in the community? Join a dynamic Wellness Department where you'll help members improve their overall health through screenings, education, vaccinations, and outreach initiatives.
Perform health screenings and monitor acute and chronic conditions
Conduct blood pressure, glucose, A1C, lipid, BMI, and other wellness assessments
Administer seasonal vaccinations and other immunizations
Participate in Health Fairs and community outreach events throughout NYC and the surrounding boroughs
Educate members in person, virtually, and over the phone on disease prevention, chronic disease management, and healthy lifestyle choices
Accurately document clinical data for reporting and statistical analysis
Counsel members on available 1199SEIU health benefits and connect them with appropriate internal departments and community resources
Communicate with physicians and specialists regarding member care and follow-up
Complete additional wellness initiatives and special projects as assigned
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License required
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Ambulatory Care, Community Health, or Medical-Surgical Nursing
Strong clinical assessment, patient education, motivational interviewing, critical thinking, and independent decision-making skills
Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and electronic documentation systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Bilingual Spanish is a plus!
Valid NYS Driver's License preferred with the ability to travel throughout the New York Metropolitan area
Ability to carry a laptop and work occasional evenings or weekends as needed
Competitive Pay: $52–$55/hour
