General Function
The Wellness Services Coordinator will play a critical role in assisting the college and members of the community by attending to their overall well-being and reducing barriers to success. This position will engage with public safety students and employees, as well as community members who seek assistance with physical health, mental health, social support, basic needs and financial needs. Acting as a screener, liaison, facilitator, and program coordinator, they will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure appropriate referrals to campus and community services. In addition, the Wellness Services Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, organizing, executing, and assisting in campus events, data collection, and documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities
Provide individualized assistance to students, college employees, and community members by connecting them with providers, health education services, community resources, and social support services addressing their individual needs
Develop and execute comprehensive wellness programs tailored to the needs of Public Safety students.
Promote regular fitness evaluations and health screenings.
Lead mental health awareness initiatives and stress management workshops.
Foster a confidential, supportive environment where staff can openly discuss mental health concerns without stigma.
Manage referrals and access to confidential counseling and mental health services.
Build partnerships with community organizations to support wellness for personnel and their families
Provide a welcoming environment for students, clarify their needs, identify priority concerns, and connect with appropriate resources
Answer inbound calls and email inquiries regarding well-being support services and lifestyle clinic referrals; makes follow-up communications to connect patients and customers with services
Complete screenings on students, employees, and community members as needed to determine referral needs, then link to appropriate services
Serve as a subject matter expert on community and college resources related to health and wellness needs
Work with school and community resources; connect, build, and maintain collaborative relationships with agencies, organizations, and support groups
Coordinate, organize, promote and carry out events related to health and wellness and basic needs services. This includes the coordination of basic needs services including the food pantry.
Track, collect and report data needed for the Wellness Center
Practice patience, tolerance, tact, and diplomacy while maintaining a positive demeanor with appropriate boundaries in working with clients, providers, and the community
Communicate effectively and provide professional service to individuals with diverse levels of education, financial resources, and health literacy
Use appropriate confidentiality as it relates to HIPAA/FERPA rules
Other duties as assigned
