West High School is seeking an Assistant Activities Director for the 2026-27 school year. The primary goal of the Assistant Activities Director is to assist the Activities Director with the administration of the high school co-curricular programs.

Examples of Specific Responsibilities:

  • Event Scheduling, Preparation & Management

  • Assist in coordinating transportation and facilities for co-curricular teams

  • Assist in dispersing payments when needed

  • Assist in recruiting and assigning personnel to work as ticket sellers, ticket takers, crowd supervisors, announcers, and other event management staff.

  • Review crowd control assignments with all supervisors, including police personnel when necessary

  • Assist in preparing for and supervising events

  • Assist in accounting for and depositing event receipts

  • Prepare and file financial reports with the Activities Director

  • Assist in securing permits for the use of practice and event facilities

  • Assist in scheduling practice times and locations

  • Assist in rescheduling events when necessary

  • Communication

  • Assist the Activities Director in conducting meetings for parents and students to review district and code of conduct expectations

  • Forward accident reports after consultation with the advisor, student or parent to the Activities Director when necessary

  • Assist in working with district administrators to anticipate and plan for future concerns

  • Collaborate with the Activities Director to cover responsibilities and encourage student engagement

  • Encourage and pursue community and family involvement and partnerships (e.g. volunteers, sponsors)

  • Recruitment of Students

  • Assist in developing ways to encourage all students to participate in co-curricular activities

  • Assist in recognizing and appreciating the diverse student population in our district

  • Assist in the development of a plan to improve participation levels by all student groups

Working Conditions:

  • Plans with others to determine how organizationally to best meet the needs of those serviced
  • Flexibility in adjusting to continuously changing situations
  • Work involves travel within the District
