Description

Job Title: Mat Pilates Instructor (Part-Time)

Department: Recreation

Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Location: West Fargo Park District

Position Summary:

The Parks & Recreation Department is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Mat Pilates Instructor to lead safe, engaging, and inclusive classes for community members of varying fitness levels. The ideal candidate will create a welcoming environment while delivering effective Pilates instruction that promotes strength, flexibility, and overall wellness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead scheduled mat Pilates classes for participants of all experience levels
• Design and implement safe, balanced, and engaging class routines
• Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and modifications as needed
• Ensure participant safety by monitoring form and offering corrections
• Arrive on time to set up and stay after class for cleanup
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive class atmosphere
• Communicate effectively with participants and recreation staff
• Track attendance and report any incidents or concerns

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Mat Pilates certification (required)
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification (required or ability to obtain)
• Prior group fitness instruction experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt classes to different fitness levels and needs
• Dependable, punctual, and professional

Supplemental Information

Schedule:

• Classes scheduled based on program needs (weekday mornings, 9:00am preferably)
• Flexible, part-time hours

Work Environment:

• Classes may be held indoors at recreation facilities or outdoors in park settings
• Requires light physical activity including demonstrating exercises and moving equipment
