Performs secretarial duties alongside laboratory aide duties to help maintain the proper workflow and organization of the laboratory.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. High school education or equivalent.

1. Prior laboratory experience or knowledge

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Collects used glassware from various sections of the laboratory and transports to work area.

2. Dispose of slides, blocks, formalin items, chemical waste

3. Fill blocks and slides for Histology and Cytology areas

4. Maintain packing lists

5. Send out pathologist consultations

6. Maintain Reference Lab supplies and ordering

7. Check in, order and process pap smears and maintain supplies

8. Washes and cleans glassware equipment

9. Sterilizes supplies when designated

10. Inspects, restocks and cleans morgue and surgical pathology lab.

11. Supplies all departments with necessary expendable items

12. Obtains supplies from other departments as required

13. Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment

14.Distributes cleaned glassware to the appropriate sections of the lab

15. Tags laboratory supplies and puts them away

16. Files microplastic slides for the histology department

17. Assists in other areas of department and corporation as needed, completing other duties as assigned.

6. Basic computer skills required.
