Position Overview

Provide customer service in coordination with the whitewater admin. Focusing on external and internal processes creating seamless experience for guests and whitewater vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize all waivers into structured system for daily distribution in an efficient manner
  • Welcome and assist customers arriving onsite, resolving concerns promptly
  • Answer questions and distribute program information to guests regarding their scheduled whitewater activity
  • Oversee the daily check-in, departure, and verification of guests for whitewater activities
  • File trip reports with West Virginia DNR
  • Write an end-of-season report to include operational improvements for your area
  • Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
  • Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
  • Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook

Qualifications

  • Minimum age: 18+
  • Proficient in computer skills (Excel, Word, software navigation)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and interpersonal communication abilities
  • Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication

Physical & Practical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and hike and up to 3 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds
  • Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
  • Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45 - 55
