About the Position
Lane County WIC is looking to add a positive and dynamic individual to our team. The WIC nutritionist/dietician position provides nutrition assessment, counseling and follow-up care for participants experiencing complex health conditions and growth concerns. WIC Utilizes current references and resources when making recommendations to participants including referrals to community-based organizations and health care providers. Management of the high-risk caseload includes developing individualized care plans, nutrition counseling, lactation support, and the completion of WIC certifications. Regular communication with health care providers regarding feeding/nutrition plans and growth follow up is required. Acts as a nutrition resource for co-workers and community partners, assists with outreach and training of staff. This position also assists in developing and implementing the annual nutrition services plan, writing local procedures, and approving nutritional handouts and class content.
Certifying clients involves screening for eligibility, performing a basic health assessment, assigning food packages, issuing eWIC cards and providing shopper education.
About the Division
Lane County WIC is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children. This public health program is designed to improve health outcomes and influence lifetime nutrition for families. Nutrition education is the cornerstone of the WIC Program. WIC provides services to income eligible pregnant and postpartum individuals as well as to families with infants or children under the age of five.
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm, with potential for two evening shifts per month from 10:00am - 7:00pm.

Experience:
An equivalent combination of experience and training, demonstrating the required knowledge and abilities, is qualifying.
Special Requirements:
Registered Dietitian with the American Dietetic Association (ADA); or eligible for ADA registration and must pass exam within six months of appointment.
This position is subject to a full background check.

Health insurance coverage becomes effective the first of the month following your first 30-days as an eligible employee.
Medical/Rx/Vision - Lane County offers medical, prescription and vision exam coverage for you and your eligible dependents. The plan options and costs per month for 2026 are outlined below:
If you enroll in the HDHP the County will contribute to your HSA:
For eligible members of unions LCPOA, 626, Admin Pro, and AFSCME Physicians $1,700 for individual coverage and $3,400 for family coverage.
For eligible members of unions AFSCME General, AFSCME Nurses, FOPPO, PAA, and non-represented employees $1,600 for individual coverage and $3,200 for family coverage. Those who complete the requirements to receive the Live Well Credit by November 30, 2026, will receive an additional contribution of $400 individual or $800 family, funded in 2027.
These amounts are prorated based on date of hire.
All eligible employees who complete a Health History Risk Assessment (HHRA), Biometric Screening, and Comprehensive Health Review (CHR) at the Live Well Center receive a $20 per month credit.
Wellness Clinic - The Live Well Center is for Lane County benefits-eligible employees, spouses and dependents (ages 2 and up) who are enrolled in the Lane County health plan. Marathon Health manages the Live Well Center and their clinical team provides confidential, affordable care for your acute and preventive healthcare needs.
