FUNCTION: Responsible for assisting Hunt Supervisor & Director of Wildlife Management in the management of wildlife and its habitat on Brays Island Plantation as well as serving as an assistant to the dog trainer. Responsibilities include guiding hunts for owners and guests and training, maintaining of bird dogs, and assisting in the daily care and wellbeing of all dogs under the care of Brays Island Plantation. Ensures that all support and service is conducted and fulfilled in a manner consistent with the vision of “One Brays” goals and objectives. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Capable of working extended hours, to include weekends and holidays as necessary.
4. Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities. 5. Position involves climbing, sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 75 lbs. This movement can occur throughout the day. Must be able to transport oneself around the plantation. Must be able to drive a car, and possess a valid driver's license. 6. Must be physically and intellectually capable of operating a computer, telephone and various other routine business items. ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school graduate and/or equivalent of education and prior knowledge of kennel operations. High knowledge of firearm safety. Basic knowledge of first aid. Skills: Highly effective interpersonal skills, strong customer service experience, problem solving abilities and advanced communication skills a plus. Experience: 1-2 years Minimum of gun dog and/or retriever training; 1 year of kennel operations experience preferred. Personality: Must be able to effectively interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented with good reasoning skills.
