    We are seeking a motivated and hands-on individual to join our team as an entry-level Wind Farm Service Technician. This role is a unique opportunity for those with a strong interest in technology and renewable energy to start a career in the wind industry, regardless of prior technical experience. You will receive comprehensive, on-the-job training to learn how to maintain and service advanced wind turbine technology.

    As a Wind Farm Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing scheduled maintenance, conducting inspections, and assisting with the troubleshooting and repair of wind turbine systems. Working under the guidance of senior technicians, you will learn to use various tools and diagnostic equipment to ensure the safety, quality, and optimal performance of our wind farm assets. This role requires working at heights and in a variety of weather conditions as part of a dedicated team.

    What You Need To Make a Difference

    60% Turbine Maintenance and Repair

    • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on wind turbines, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. • Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions in turbine systems under the guidance of senior technicians. • Execute basic repairs and component replacements using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment. • Document all maintenance activities, parts usage, and observations in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

    30% Safety and Compliance

    • Adhere strictly to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures. • Participate in daily safety briefings and conduct pre-task risk assessments to ensure a safe work environment. • Maintain and inspect personal protective equipment (PPE) and climbing gear. • Ensure work areas, vehicles, and tool storage are kept clean, organized, and in safe condition.

    10% Training and Team Collaboration

    • Actively participate in the provided on-the-job training and formal learning programs to develop technical proficiency. • Collaborate effectively with team members and senior technicians to complete tasks efficiently and safely. • Communicate work status and technical issues clearly to the site supervisor.

    What You Bring

    OSHA 10-Hour General Industry preferred High School Diploma or GED Associates degree or Technical Certificate in Wind Energy, or a related mechanical/electrical field preferred Valid Drivers License Technical Aptitude Mechanical Aptitude Proficiency with Hand Tools and Power Tool Operation Basic understanding of Electrical and Hydraulic systems Operational Skills Troubleshooting (Problem Solving) Preventive Maintenance procedures Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings and technical manuals Safety and Quality Knowledge of Environment Health And Safety (EHS) Principles Attention to detail and Quality Control standards
