Winding Manufacturing Technician, LFP Battery Cell Manufacturing

Tesla's LFP Electrode Production Team is seeking highly motivated individuals to tackle manufacturing of a challenging new process. You will be working alongside Engineers, Maintenance, Quality, and Training to develop an advanced new process and be among the first individuals to work in a new cell manufacturing factory within Tesla. You will spend a significant amount of time training, troubleshooting, and driving performance.

• Monitor and adjust the Jelly roll creation process on the Winding production line, including parameter adjustments to maintain the process within defined specifications
• Complete standard work process and follow work instructions, procedures, and rotate as required
• Demonstrate flexibility as needed by the business
• Escalate technical and process issues to the appropriate support groups and leaders
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures and demonstrate a high level of professionalism
• Maintain exemplary attendance and punctuality to scheduled shifts
• Manufacturing/industrial experience, 3-5 years preferred
• Experience operating Winding lines, requiring highly skilled work in monitoring and adjusting Material alignment and quality
• Experience with operating and troubleshooting automated/semi-automated manufacturing equipment, basic mechanical troubleshooting preferred
• Demonstrate ability to analyze problems and error conditions, identify root causes, and implement viable long-term solutions, Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles are preferred, but not required
• Command of the English language, both written and verbal with ability to understand and record maintenance procedures, shift pass downs
• Comfortable with frequent change of direction, dynamic work environment and passion to perform time-sensitive analysis under pressure
• Demonstrated ability to be a self-driven contributor with limited supervision

Essential Physical Demands

• Able to perform assembly work and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours/day
• Able to execute tasks within required cycle time, quickly and accurately during new hire training and maintaining ability throughout employment.
• Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 50 lbs., climb and descend a 10" step, and ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
• Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day
• Exposures to hazardous materials used and ability to follow waste handling/disposal procedures
• Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
• Wearing Personal Protective Equipment for up to 12 hours per day, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, hearing protection, half-faced respirators, gloves, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
