Windows System Administrator

Summary:

• Doesn't need to be super expert, but should definitely know their way around Windows Server (2016 or greater)
• Term unknown, 6 months +, maybe a year, maybe more
• Guide others with knowledge of A/D replication, DNS, user authorization, Group Policy, etc.
• Must write documentation following templates provided by the County
• Must be very proficient in understanding and writing documentation for the team
• Willing to pay more for greater expertise, but the term would be diminished; that is, I'd pay more for a true expert, but the term would almost certainly be limited to 6 months to meet the budget

Work to do:

• Group Policy
• Understand and Create group policies
• Goes through the current state and makes sure everything is being applied correctly
• Refine group policy and document it
• Understand DNS replication
• They have a minor DNS environment
• Not complex, but more than basic
• Test and document how things are working and what to fix
• Document systems in the current state
• Go through all systems and create workload documents so new people know what is going on

Workflow, process and details of the person:

• Must be detailed and very knowledgeable about the Windows system environment
• Windows 16 to now
• Has 1 window, 12 servers
• Must be a #2 from day one with knowledge
• Try to migrate to 2020
• 600 desktops
• 50 virtual machines
• 12 physical servers
• Knows hyper V
• Back up windows set correctly
• Must be onsite from day one
• Prefers someone who is already local, max of 40 miles from Belvedere, NJ
• Senior person, which can lead a team
• Be able to learn and teach
