The students, staff, and administration in the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District (FLRSD) are seeking a Winter Athletic Trainer at Apponequet Regional High School (ARHS).

Position Objective: The ARHS Winter Athletic Trainer will provide comprehensive athletic training services that promote the health, safety, and performance of student-athletes through the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries. The athletic trainer will collaborate with coaches, healthcare professionals, and families to support student well-being, ensure proper care, and foster an environment that prioritizes injury prevention, recovery, and safe return-to-play.

Overall Position Responsibilities: Presence on the grounds of FLRSD/ARHS, Mon. - Fri. from 1:30 pm - 6:00 pm, with extended hours on home game days. Provide injury prevention strategies, including taping, bracing, conditioning, and education for student-athletes. Evaluate and manage athletic injuries in collaboration with other professionals. Develop and implement rehabilitation and reconditioning programs to support safe and timely return-to-play. Maintain accurate and confidential records, treatment logs, and injury reports. Respond to emergency situations with appropriate first aid and injury management techniques. Communicate effectively with coaches, families, and school staff regarding student-athlete health and participation status. Ensure compliance with regulations and best practices for athletic healthcare. Manage athletic training facilities, equipment, and supplies to ensure a safe and functional environment. Promote overall wellness, injury prevention education, and healthy lifestyle habits for students. Attend athletic events, practices, and competitions as assigned, providing on-site athletic trainer services. Complete other assignments as delegated by the Athletic Director, High School Principal or Designee, and the Superintendent.

Required Qualifications: A Masters Degree from a program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) MA Licensure from the MA Board of Allied Health Professions and Board of Registration of Allied Health Professionals Certification

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the school setting Experience supporting student athletes Evidence of engagement in on-going professional development

Salary & Terms of Employment: In accordance with the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District Educators' Association contract, the salary for the Winter Athletic Trainer is: $15,003.00. The position begins immediately and concludes on March 27, 2026 Employment is contingent upon job performance, program needs, and funding.
