What challenges will you take on?

  • Set up and operate various spiral loom machines to produce wire belts that meet the work order and customer specifications.
  • Use measuring tape and calipers confidently; apply math with fractions, decimals, and multiplication/addition.
  • Monitor product appearance and dimensions, perform required quality checks, and record data on the work order.
  • Adjust equipment, follow work instructions, and report quality problems to engineering and supervision without delay.
  • Support your department with tasks of equal or lesser job grade and live out Fenner Precision Polymers Values and Behaviors.

How will you progress?

We recognize capability with clear level definitions—each stage adds scope, independence, and influence.

Level 1 Operator

  • Run a variety of products on spiral looms at the standard rate.
  • Complete common setups and build from work orders with limited supervision.
  • Own quality checks and documentation; sustain specifications using calipers and equipment adjustments.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and team success.

Level 2 Operator

  • Everything in Level 1.
  • Master a broad range of machine setups.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting quality without supervision across the majority of products.
  • Diagnose and build from work orders independently; stay flexible to support where needed most.
  • Offer proactive ideas to drive continuous improvement.

Level 3 Operator

  • Everything in Levels 1 & 2.
  • Master all setups across all spiral loom machines in the shop.
  • Demonstrate expert troubleshooting across every product and machine.
  • Train others, support teammates through challenges, and lead improvement by example with a positive attitude.

Where finishing meets craftsmanship

Beyond loom operations, you’ll bring products to completion with hands‑on metal finishing and welding.

Welder – General Skills

  • Maintain Fenner Precision Polymers values and adhere to all safety procedures, including lifting techniques.
  • Understand left‑hand vs. right‑hand welding processes and the associated equipment setup.
  • Cut, fit, and weld metal using gas and electric welding equipment.
  • Operate saws, torches, plasma cutters, grinders, and drills safely and effectively.
  • Perform skilled welding on various metals, including heavy‑gauge steel; capable of MIG and TIG welding.
  • Carry out simple machining tasks.

Finisher I

  • Execute all general welding skills.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for welding.
  • Weld parts per the manufacturing order.
  • Perform visual quality assessments.
  • Cut mesh and punch holes to spec.

Finisher II

  • Execute all general skills and Finisher I tasks.
  • Complete at least 50% of chain jobs.
  • Weld to small, tight specifications.
  • Complete a filter belt manufacturing order.

Safety—your license to operate

  • Learn and follow all EHS policies, rules, and work instructions.
  • Attend required EHS training and wear PPE at all times.
  • Protect yourself, co‑workers, and visitors: conduct/participate in risk assessments, workplace inspections, corrective actions, and safety observations.
  • Report incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions/acts, and hazards. STOP WORK when imminent danger is present.
  • Keep the work area neat and equipment in proper working condition.

What you’ll need

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: None required.
