Wire Harness Assembler

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Wire Harness Assembler with soldering expertise to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 6 months of experience in mechanical assembly, soldering, and wiring harnesses. Proficiency in reading schematics, crimping, and terminating is essential. This role requires a strong understanding of electromechanical tools, processes, and safety standards. The Electro-Mechanical Assembler will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our Laser Products.

General Accountabilities

  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, cable drawings, bills of materials, assembly instructions, and production travelers.
  • Measure, cut, strip, prepare, route, bundle, and label wires and cables according to engineering specifications.
  • Crimp terminals, contacts, ferrules, lugs, and splices using approved hand or pneumatic tooling.
  • Assemble and terminate connectors, backshells, strain-relief devices, heat-shrink components, sleeving, and protective coverings.
  • Perform soldering and desoldering of wires, terminals, connectors, and related electrical components as required.
  • Build wiring harnesses and cable assemblies using fixtures, boards, templates, drawings, and visual work instructions.
  • Inspect completed harnesses for correct wire size, color, length, pin location, polarity, routing, labeling, crimp quality, solder quality, and overall workmanship.
  • Perform continuity, point-to-point, polarity, and basic electrical tests using digital multimeters, continuity testers, or dedicated test fixtures.
  • Identify and report discrepancies, damaged materials, drawing conflicts, workmanship defects, and nonconforming components.
  • Rework or repair wiring harnesses and cable assemblies in accordance with approved instructions and quality requirements.
  • Maintain component and material traceability and accurately complete production, inspection, and test documentation.
  • Follow electrostatic-discharge controls, safety procedures, quality requirements, and applicable workmanship standards.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering personnel to resolve assembly issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and properly care for tools, fixtures, and test equipment.
  • Meet established production schedules while maintaining consistent quality and attention to detail

 

Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in electro-mechanical assembly is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in electro-mechanical assembly, including soldering and crimping.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with wiring harness fabrication, crimping, and termination techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of electromechanical tools, processes, and safety practices.
  • Detail-oriented with strong manual dexterity and precision skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude toward continuous improvement.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
