Wireman

Clayton Services is searching for a Wireman to join a thriving company in Northwest Houston. The Wireman will be responsible for building, assembling, and wiring custom electrical control panels according to drawings and electrical schematics. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced panel builder or electrical assembler looking to join an established and growing panel shop.

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $30.00/hour, depending on experience

Wireman Responsibilities:

• Build, assemble, and wire custom electrical control panels according to provided drawings and electrical schematics.
• Client out components and materials according to panel drawings.
• Ensure the proper tools and materials are available for each assembly.
• Drill, tap, rivet, and install electrical components and hardware.
• Read and accurately follow electrical wiring schematics.
• Perform point-to-point wiring and component terminations.
• Use printing software to create wire tags and labels.
• Perform crimping, ferruling, and lugging as required.
• Ensure the correct wire size and color are used according to supplied wiring diagrams.
• Maintain accuracy and quality throughout the panel assembly process.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Wireman Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Knowledge of electrical control panel assembly and wiring.
• Ability to use hand and power tools for drilling, tapping, riveting, and component installation.
• Knowledge of crimping, ferruling, lugging, and wire termination.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow drawings accurately.
• Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to differentiate between colored wires, labels, and electrical components.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform repetitive assembly tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Wireman Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 2 years of experience as a Control Panel Assembler, Panel Builder, Panel Wirer, or similar electrical assembly position.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and wiring custom control panels required.
• Experience drilling and tapping explosion-proof enclosures is a plus.
