 Job Description - Work Based Learning Program (OST) Ages 14-15 (240003QC)  Work Based Learning Program (OST) Ages 14-15 Job Number:  240003QC Job Posting: Nov 1, 2024, 12:04:59 AMPrimary Location: West Side-1321 South Paulina Street (Simpson Academy for Yng Women)Organization: High School  JOB DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please Note - Only students 14 or 15 years old This position is provided as a part of the Out of School Time Program at Simpson Academy and will allow students an opportunity to earn money while gaining experience for the workplace.

Job Summary: Students work on Google Certifications. Some of the Certifications the students are exposed to are:

Digital Marketing IT support Specialist Data Analysts Certification Cyber Security Professional Certification And many more

Students will choose what their interests are and will work on that specific Certification.This Program helps students earn their Certification and helps them develop skills and knowledge that will prepare them for their future careers. Technology is a key component of the WBL program empowering Tomorrows Workforce by incorporating and helping them gain skills in technology preparing them for a 21st Century workplace.This student employee position will be compensated for time worked on an hourly basis. The work schedule for this role will consist of an estimated [1-2 hours per week] through the remainder of the school year beginning November 1, 2024 and ending June 30, 2025.The Work Based Learning Student Worker will complete duties such as the following:

Explore and learn about new tech programs   Other duties as assigned

Ability to apply critical thinking skills when faced with challenges in order to problem solve and arrive at a solution Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate with school staff and peer students as an active member of a team Proficient in the use of digital technology (ex: basic computers skills)Capable of maintaining professionalism in various situations Strong work ethic and drive to successfully complete assigned tasksIn order to qualify for this student worker position, candidates must be actively enrolled as a CPS student [attending their sophomore, junior, or senior of high school during the current school year, and must be participating in the Thursday Work Based Learning Tech Program at Simpson Academy for Young Women. A valid work permit will be required for students under the age of 16.
