Northeastern REMC is seeking a Work Scheduling Coordinator to assist in supporting daily operational activities related to field work scheduling, locate requests, and service coordination on the electric distribution system. This role ensures that all required locates, disconnects, reconnects, and job scope updates are requested, tracked, and completed in a timely and accurate manner. The Work Scheduling Coordinator works closely with dispatch operations, field crews, and external locating services to maintain safe and efficient workflow execution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or administrative coursework preferred.
- Previous experience in an office, administrative, or similar professional setting strongly preferred, in roles such as clerical support, data entry, customer service, or general administrative functions, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with professional demeanor.
- Basic proficiency with computer systems, scheduling tools, and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail with good follow through skills; able to work independently and proactively to see tasks through to resolution
- Good interpersonal skills, demonstrating integrity, positivity, and respect for others; able to collaborate well within the team and cross functionally.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Submit, track, and follow up on locate requests for planned construction, maintenance, and customer-initiated work.
- Initiate and coordinate emergency locate requests to support urgent field activities and system restoration needs.
- Schedule and document disconnect and reconnect orders for customer service work, maintenance tasks, and project requirements.
- Update and maintain scoping job information, including stakes, job notes, and field requirements, to ensure accurate work planning.
- Communicate with field crews, contractors, and internal departments to confirm scheduling details and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor incoming work orders and prioritize tasks based on operational needs and established procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all scheduling activities, requests, and communications in company systems.
- Support dispatch operations by ensuring all prerequisite field activities are properly coordinated.
- Assist with submission of railroad permits and other field engineering administrative tasks as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in an office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and continuous use of a computer, telephone, and multiple communication systems. The work environment may be fast-paced and require performing under pressure at times.
