Title Work Study Grounds Maintenance Assistant Position Description

The Grounds Maintenance Assistant position will assist with the day to day activities involved in grounds maintenance including but not limited to:

• sweeping
• raking
• weeding
• picking up litter
• weed whacking
• other duties as assigned

Please note: This position requires driving and therefore must comply with all University Vehicle Policies and Procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester.
• Must have Work Study award in your financial aid package
• Must be (18) years of age or older.
• Must hold a current and valid driver's license and meet all requirements to operate a motor vehicle in the state of Massachusetts.
• Must have held a motor vehicle operator's license for one year.
• Must have a reputable and clean driving record to be considered for the position.
• Must complete driver training provided by the University, to include pre-trip/post-trip inspection of the vehicle, defensive driver training, proper vehicle operating procedures, and review of accident/incident procedures..

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge and skill in landscaping and landscaping tools helpful, but not required.

Physical Demands

May work in extreme heat or cold temperatures.
