Title Work Study HRTM Office Assistant Position Description

Department Information

The Division of Human Resources and Talent Management (HRTM) is responsible for managing the employee lifecycle within BSU, encompassing recruitment, onboarding, training, compensation, performance management, and employee relations. HRTM's purpose is to create a productive, compliant, and engaged workforce, which in turn contributes to BSU's overall success.

Position Information

The HRTM Office Assistant will report to the Director of HRTM Operations. They will be responsible for greeting and triaging current and prospective employees that visit the main office.

Other responsibilities in this role include:

  • Routing inquiries to the appropriate HRTM staff member
  • Organizing and auditing employee files, both physical and digital, ensuring accuracy and confidentially
  • Sorting and distributing incoming mail and packages
  • Delivering mail to other on campus departments
  • Assisting in the preparation of various on campus events (such as preparing handouts, creating flyers, putting together giveaways etc.)
  • other duties as assigned

Please note

Hours available for this position will be 3-4 hour shifts between 8am-2pm on Mondays and/or between 8am-5pm on Thursdays. Additional hours on other days may be available on an as-needed basis.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Must have Work Study award in your financial aid package

  • Experience in customer service
  • Experience in a professional office setting
  • Students enrolled or interested in Human Resources, Management and/or Business Operations

Physical Demands

  • May need to lift or move boxes of paper. This work could be done with the assistance of others or with the use of a hand truck or office chair.
  • The ability to walk around campus to other offices to deliver mail, if needed
