Hourly Rate: $16.00 Hours per Week: 3-8
SUMMARY OF POSITION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a friendly, organized, and proactive AIM mentee to serve as a Peer Mentor for fellow AIM Scholars at Bismarck State College. This role is ideal for students who enjoy helping others succeed, building community, and planning events, both on campus and online. Peer mentors play a key role in welcoming new students, supporting academic success, and strengthening engagement across the AIM program.
DUTIES:
• Help new AIM Scholars get comfortable with Blackboard, their class schedules, and campus resources. • Provide one-on-one and group mentoring focused on study habits, time management, and academic success. • Support and attend AIM events, both on campus and online. • Assist with planning and organizing student events, workshops, and campus tours. • Help coordinate and attend conferences with AIM students and faculty. • Serve as a positive role model and point of contact for AIM Scholars. • Communicate regularly with the AIM team and keep track of student engagement.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Current AIM Scholar who has completed at least one semester at BSC. • Minimum GPA of 3.0 • Strong communication and organizational skills • Comfortable working independently and with a team • Familiar with Blackboard and BSC student services. • Experience in mentoring, tutoring, or event planning is a plus.
SCHEDULE:
Minimum of 8 hours per week (depends on needs and availability) Flexible scheduling; 1-2 hours per day, or grouped into longer blocks (e.g., 4 or 5 hours in one day)
