Job Summary
The work study program provides funds for part-time employment to help students finance the costs of postsecondary education. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student's course of study. The program is designed to provide students with an opportunity for employment arranged around class schedules, while providing essential services to the College and the community.
Essential Functions
Responsible for creating engaging and creative content for various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. This includes developing photos, videos, graphics, and short clips that align with Trail Point's goals.
Work with Trail Point's staff to manage the social media accounts by recommending posts and monitoring engagement. This also involves maintaining content calendars and keeping social media metric documents up to date.
May be required to cover events, both virtually and in-person, to create live updates and post-event content. This includes taking photos, recording videos, and writing summaries of events.
Work closely with various departments under the supervision of Trail Point staff, to ensure that the social media content aligns with the overall communication strategy and goals of the organization.
Monitoring the online community and determining the best way to answer questions, address concerns, and foster a positive and interactive environment on social media platforms.
Staying updated with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices. The Assistant will research and recommend new strategies to enhance the organization's social media presence.
Assisting with administrative tasks related to social media management, such as contributing to the social media calendar, organizing digital assets, and maintaining records of social media activities.
Required Qualifications
Experience in social media management showing familiar with various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
Ability to develop creative, entertaining, and informative social media posts, including photos, videos, and graphics, for various demographic groups. This includes creating short clips, teasers, and other digital content that aligns with the organization's goals.
Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn or enhance skills in software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe products, video and phot editing tools, and other relevant applications are important.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary for drafting and editing content, answering questions via direct messages, and collaborating with team members.
Must be reliable, organized, and detail oriented and able to maintain content calendars and keep social media metric documents up to date.
The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for event coverage and social media monitoring.
Desired Qualifications Work Schedule
