Garfield, Midland, TX Job SummaryAssist with shipping, receiving, and delivery of items from freight companies including processing necessary documents and confirming receipt of such items.Required Qualifications* Must be a currently enrolled student and registered for classes* Must meet all Work Study eligibility requirements through the Financial Aid Office* Must possess a valid Texas Driver's license, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College's insurance policyPreferred Qualifications Essential Functions* Receiving and checking in shipments from various freight companies including FedEx and UPS* Delivery of shipments to the correct departments on the College campus* Safely drive a golf cart* Must follow safety guidelines and utilize proper lifting and carrying techniques* Other duties as assignedPhysical Demands* Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time* Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time* The person in this position needs to occasionally move or drive to other locations on and off campus* Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation* Use of manual dexterity* Capable of climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, and repetitive twisting* The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information* Frequently moves boxes or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds* Duties indoors and outdoors in various weather conditionsSecurity SensitivityAll Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
