Business Analyst - Workday Financials

Run discovery workshops with Finance and IT. Document current posting flows and the legacy cost-plus process.  
Project Start date  
Configure Accounting Center sources for pharmacy paid claims, reversals, adjustments, capitation, and admin fees.  
Build the rulebook and exception taxonomy. Set up reject queues, routing, and SLAs.  
Define and implement controls. Maker and checker, tie outs from source batch to journal totals, no out of balance postings, monthly sample reviews.  
Design cost plus in Workday. Client hierarchy, price lists, fee tables, caps and floors, invoice templates, threshold approvals, dispute and rebill.  
Align revenue policies and drive automatic AR and GL postings.  
Produce reconciliation views. Billed to GL by client and cost pool  
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and convey technical concepts effectively.  
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to address complex data challenges effectively.  
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are essential.  



Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the primary liaison between business users, finance teams, and IT to understand issues, analyze root causes, and provide sustainable solutions.
• Support the Workday Finance application by understanding its key modules such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, Expenses, and Financial Accounting.
• Conduct business process analysis to identify improvement opportunities in financial workflows, reporting, and controls.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Evaluate current Workday finance usage and recommend enhancements or automation to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
• Partner with technical teams to design and validate Workday configuration changes or integrations with third-party systems.
• Proactively identify process gaps, redundancies, and manual interventions that can be automated using Workday capabilities or related tools (e.g., Workday Extend, Prism, or integration solutions).
• Support UAT, change management, and post-deployment validation for finance-related changes.
• Monitor key system and process KPIs to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with business goals.
• Stay updated on Workday Financials roadmap and best practices to advise the business on modernization opportunities.
Required Skills and Experience:
• 8+ years of overall experience, with at least 2–3 years working with Workday Financials (configuration, support, or business analysis).
• Proven experience in finance operations or ERP finance processes (e.g., GL, AP, AR, procurement, budgeting, or reporting).
• Strong background in business analysis, process mapping, requirements gathering, and stakeholder management.
• Experience identifying and implementing automation or process optimization opportunities (e.g., RPA, workflow automation, or analytics-driven improvements).
• Familiarity with Workday reporting, integration concepts, and financial data structures.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills; ability to translate business needs into actionable requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive and consultative approach.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Workday Financials certification or training (desirable but not mandatory).
• Experience working in shared services or global finance transformation environments.
• Knowledge of automation tools or analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx).
