The Squires Group is seeking an experienced Workday Grants Functional Lead to support a large-scale public sector Workday implementation. This role offers a chance to support public sector funding transparency and accountability through a modern Workday Financials platform. With minimal travel and a highly collaborative team, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute deep functional expertise while maintaining flexibility.
You’ll join a project that is in its early design phase, giving you meaningful influence over solution architecture and long-term outcomes. The work directly supports a mission-driven organization focused on serving communities through responsible public funding and operational excellence.
The work is primarily remote, with less than 30% to the Pacific Northwest. Per our client contract, candidates must be US Citizens or Green Card Holders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Grants functional workstream for a full Workday Financials implementation
- Partner with finance and grants stakeholders to design and configure grant accounting, compliance, billing, and reporting processes
- Translate public sector grants requirements into scalable Workday solutions
- Collaborate with Procurement, Spend, Payroll, and Integration teams to ensure end-to-end alignment
- Support testing, data validation, and go-live readiness
- Serve as the subject matter expert for grants functionality throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience implementing Workday Financials with a focus on Grants
- Solid understanding of public sector or government grant management requirements
- Strong functional leadership and the ability to guide design decisions
- Comfortable working in a mostly virtual environment with limited travel (under 30%)
- Ability to contribute strategically while also engaging in hands-on configuration work
