Kforce has a client that is seeking a Workday People Operations Specialist in Arlington, VA. Summary: Our client is seeking a temporary Workday People Operations Specialist to provide short-term support during a team vacancy and ongoing permanent search. This role will focus on Workday HCM support, employee lifecycle transactions, data integrity, reporting, auditing, and general People Operations administration. This is a hands-on, coordinator-level role ideal for someone who has prior Workday HCM experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to quickly identify and resolve employee data discrepancies. The consultant will support the team for approximately 60-90 days, with an immediate start preferred. Key Responsibilities:
  • Process employee lifecycle transactions in Workday HCM, including job changes, transfers, employee updates, and other assigned business processes
  • Run existing Workday reports and audit employee records for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Identify and flag data discrepancies such as incorrect employee classifications, profile errors, address/location mismatches, duplicate records, or missing worker-profile information
  • Support data integrity efforts to help prevent downstream payroll or employee record issues
  • Review exported reports in Excel or Google Sheets using basic filtering, sorting, and data review
  • Support Workday case management by responding to, routing, delegating, or escalating employee inquiries through established workflows
  • Assist with onboarding, offboarding, documentation management, employee record maintenance, and general People Operations administration
  • Partner with internal teams such as Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Finance, IT, and Total Rewards as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with professionalism and discretion

Requirements:

  • Prior Workday HCM experience required; This does not need to be advanced or recent, but candidates should be comfortable navigating employee profiles and processing basic transactions
  • Experience in HR Operations, People Operations, HR Coordination, or a similar employee lifecycle support role
  • Experience processing employee changes, maintaining employee records, and supporting HR administrative workflows
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to audit information, catch errors, and identify inconsistencies quickly
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills, especially when interacting with employees and internal stakeholders
  • Comfort running existing reports and reviewing data for accuracy; Report-building experience is not required
  • Comfort handling sensitive and confidential employee information
  • Ability to work independently after onboarding and contribute quickly with limited training
Preferred:
  • HR certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP is a plus, but not required
  • Experience supporting a moderate- to high-volume employee population
  • Payroll-adjacent experience or understanding of how employee data impacts payroll accuracy
  • Exposure to Workday case management or another HR ticketing/help desk system
  • Basic Excel or Google Sheets skills, including filtering, sorting, and reviewing exported reports

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
