Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Workers' Compensation Nurse Case Manager. In this role, you will serve as a vital advocate for injured workers, guiding them through the medical and vocational recovery process. You will collaborate closely with medical providers, claims adjusters, and employers to coordinate high-quality care, implement cost-effective treatment strategies, and facilitate a safe, timely return to work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Field Advocacy: Accompany injured workers to medical and therapy appointments to analyze their medical condition and vocational status.
  • On-Site Assessments: Meet with employees at their worksites, or provider offices to evaluate safety measures and ensure appropriate environment modifications.
  • Care Coordination: Collaboratively assess patient needs with medical providers to design treatment plans focused on optimal health outcomes and return-to-work goals.
  • Communication: Maintain regular, productive communication with injured workers, physicians, attorneys, supervisors, and claims managers.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Provide detailed, accurate, and timely case status updates and activity logs to claims adjusters and the Workers'' Compensation Coordinator.
  • Education & Counseling: Educate injured employees, families, and medical teams and McLeod leaders on the workers'' compensation system and case management objectives.
  • Service Excellence: Project a professional image and deliver outstanding customer relations in alignment with McLeod Health Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.

Job Requirements

  • Education & Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Required).
  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Orthopedics, the Emergency Room (ER), Med-Surg or other related field. Occupational Health (Preferred).
  • Case Management: Prior experience in case management is preferred.
  • Travel: Ability to travel to clinics, hospitals, residences, and worksites throughout the inland and related areas as needed.
  • Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, excellent communication, and the ability to maintain productive relationships across multiple parties.
