Overview

Join our Risk Management team and play an important role in supporting our self-insured Workers Compensation Program. In this position, youll provide administrative and para-professional support while managing medical-only claims, coordinating return-to-work efforts, assisting with safety initiatives, and contributing to special projects. Your work will help employees navigate workplace injuries and support a safe, healthy work environment across the County.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Enjoy a hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two days working remotely after onboarding and training.

Responsibilities

What youll be doing:

  • Assisting with the administration of the Countys self-insured Workers Compensation Program, including supporting complex claims management.

  • Managing medical-only workers compensation claims from intake through resolution.

  • Supporting the Countys Return-to-Work (RTW) program by coordinating employee return-to-work efforts.

  • Coordinating schedules with departments and subject matter experts for workplace safety training programs.

  • Entering new workers compensation claims into the Risk Management Information System (RMIS).

  • Maintaining claim files, documentation, and confidential employee records with accuracy and discretion.

  • Assisting with the Countys Automated External Defibrillator (AED) program, including conducting weekly equipment inspections and replacing batteries and electrode pads as needed.

  • Supporting the Countys DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program by coordinating administrative processes.

  • Preparing workers compensation reports, correspondence, and related documentation.

  • The ability to review claims, investigate discrepancies, and verify the accuracy of forms and supporting documentation.

  • A basic understanding of Workers Compensation, HIPAA requirements, workplace safety programs, return-to-work processes, DOT drug and alcohol testing, and applicable Workers Compensation regulations.

  • Dependability and a commitment to regular, predictable attendance.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Two years (2) of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
  • Possess reliable transportation to be able to work in any County facility as needed and required.
