    Position Summary:
    As a Workforce Development Specialist, you will help young people build confidence, overcome barriers, and take meaningful steps toward education, employment, and long-term success. In this role, you will work directly with youth enrolled in CCMEP services, partnering with schools, families, community providers, and employers to support academic progress, work readiness, graduation goals, career exploration, and connections to employment or post-secondary education. This is an opportunity to be a coach, advocate, and connector for young people as they discover their strengths and move toward a brighter future.

    Job Responsibilities:
    • Build supportive relationships with youth to understand their goals, strengths, barriers, academic needs, and career interests.
    • Create and update individualized service plans that connect each participant to education, employment, training, leadership development, and supportive resources.
    • Recruit and engage eligible youth, helping them access WIOA/CCMEP services and stay connected throughout their journey.
    • Serve as a coach, advocate, and connector by coordinating referrals, community resources, work experiences, and services that help youth move toward success.
    • Facilitate workshops, trainings, support groups, and other activities that build confidence, work readiness, life skills, and career awareness.
    • Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, reports, service records, and follow-up activities in alignment with program and funder requirements.
    • Develop strong partnerships with schools, employers, community providers, and agency partners to expand opportunities for youth.
    • Provide required follow-up services after program exit, helping youth maintain progress and continue moving toward their goals.
    • Protect participant confidentiality, attend required meetings, maintain reliable attendance, and support other program needs as assigned.


     
    Education/Qualifications:
    • An appropriate combination of education, training, course work, and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred. 
    • Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.
