Workforce InstructorThe Workforce Instructor’s primary responsibilities are delivering daily classroom instruction, providing technical support, and supporting students throughout the course of the program to obtain certifications.
Position Location This position may be located in Philadelphia, PA with some local or regional travel as needed to support our programs and students.
Compensation and Benefits
The Salary Range is - $50,000-$53,000
This is a full-time, exempt position with full benefits and a salary commensurate with experience.

Qualifications- High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Must be willing to maintain a flexible schedule as occasional evening or weekend hours may be required.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience with CRM (customer relationship management) databases, and LMS (Learning Management Systems) is preferred
- Experience working with individuals from diverse economic and multicultural communities is preferred.
- Within 3 months of hire date, successfully complete Cisco Certified Instructor training and CompTIA A+ certification, if not already attained.
- A minimum of three (3) years of practical experience within the last seven (7) years in the subject area or a minimum of (1) year technical instruction experience.
- Technical training or instructional experience preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities Instruction- Create a positive classroom environment and foster learning. Provide consistent encouragement and support to help students remain motivated and develop confidence in their abilities.
- Have the ability to adjust instructional strategies in order to reach the program’s goals.
- Ensure classroom technology, including networking and internet connectivity, is functional and supports learning activities
- Incorporate and guide real-world scenarios that are outside of “core” course of study.
- Deliver the Cisco IT Essentials Curriculum, supplemental CompTIA A+ prep, and AI curriculum
- Provide extra help to students struggling with the curriculum.
- Monitor current curriculum in the LMS and raise comments to the Senior ITWorks instructor and Program Managers.
- Contribute to the following program outcome goals.
Admissions Support- Support the student selection process by participating in Group and Individual interviews and by providing feedback on candidates.
- Support student recruitment efforts by engaging prospective students, participating in outreach activities, and collaborating with internal teams to promote program awareness and increase enrollment.
- Support the onboarding of students in Workforce Development Programs by collecting required documentation, demographic information, and other data in alignment with grant requirements and local policies.
Technology Support- Maintain a small classroom network with internet connectivity.
- Maintain inventory and status of classroom laptops and prepare laptops for student usage with appropriate software across all IT Works programs
- Maintain PowerApps connections in M365.
Data Entry- Enter student and program data accurately and promptly across databases, spreadsheets, and related information systems to support reporting and program operations.
- Protect personally identifiable information while in compliance with Tech Impact's policies and procedures.
- Respond promptly to grant-related data requests by providing relevant student success stories, updating databases, and generating reports as needed.
Essential Skills - Gain familiarity with online platforms (Teams, Zoom, etc) and LMS.
