The College operates under the policies established by the State Board for Community Colleges and the Virginia Western Community College Local Advisory Board. Virginia Western is located on a 70-acre campus in southwest Roanoke, VA. The service region of the College includes Roanoke, Salem, Roanoke County, Craig County, Franklin County, and southern Botetourt County. The College was established in 1966 and has grown from an initial enrollment of 1,352 to its current annual enrollment of over 9,000 students in credit courses and more than 1,400 enrollments in fast-track workforce and continuing education courses. Virginia Western Community College, located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Roanoke Valley, is accepting applications for part-time HVAC Instructors in Workforce Solutions. HVAC Instructors will teach students HVAC concepts following the NCCER Curriculum for HVAC levels 1-4 that prepare them to successfully obtain NCCER credentials related to HVAC and get credit towards their journeymens license. Minimum Qualifications 3-5 years of occupational experience in HVAC work. The ability to be credentialed as an NCCER instructor for electricity levels 1-4. All Adjunct Faculty positions require: Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to write syllabi and exams. Ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments. The ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds. Additional Considerations Experience teaching adult learners. Journeymens or Master Level license in related field.
