We are a small, family-owned Italian restaurant in Eugene, Oregon, open daily from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with occasional extended hours for special events.
We are seeking a seasoned Italian kitchen chef with years of experience to work across stations (expo, pasta, entr e, pantry) five days of the week.
The ideal candidate will lead organization, training, and daily kitchen operations, creating efficient systems to streamline workflow.
Additionally, we value candidates that have spent time in Italy, or have a strong familiarity with Italian food, whether through extended stays, Italian language proficiency, or deep personal connections to the culture and cuisine.
We welcome chefs from out of state who may consider a change of lifestyle into a quaint college town surrounded by nature, and will consider providing accommodations support during the trial period, as well as considering some relocation assistance for the right candidate.
Requirements:
Proven track record as a chef with hands-on leadership experience.
Proficiency with Excel and Word for scheduling, ordering, and menu building.
Strong leadership with patience and the ability to guide and train younger staff.
Ability to remain composed and effective in a small, intimate, high-pressure kitchen environment.
Strong commitment to cleanliness and food safety standards, ensuring all kitchen practices meet health regulations.
Creativity and flexibility in menu development, adapting to seasonal ingredients and guest preferences.
Effective communication skills to ensure seamless coordination with front-of-house and other kitchen staff.
Willingness to cooperate with owners, aligning with their vision and existing recipes, while helping to refine and improve within that framework.
