Overall Purpose of the Job

Work under general supervision within a Workshop environment carrying out maintenance, diagnoses and repairs to a range of oilfield equipment. Undertake the preparation of equipment to Company standards in a safe manner for use within an operational environment.

Key Activities and Accountabilities

  1. Under Supervision, undertak the preventative and predictive maintenance and also the diagnosis and repair of equipment in line with work plans up to the required Company quality and certification standards.

  2. Assist with the rigging up, building and rigging down of equipment as required.

  3. May be required to drive a forklift to undertake the movement, loading and unloading of equipment provided current driving qualification held.

  4. Undertake required inspections of equipment and prepare the appropriate documentation to ensure compliance with company's policies, procedures and practices. Ensure that all documentation is the correct revision.

  5. Report all incidents and non-conformances in line with the appropriate procedures and deadlines.

  6. Update job packs and return to the foreman/supervisor at the end of each work period.

  7. Liaise with various internal departments such as logistics and stores to ensure all required components and movement of items is achieved to ensure timely completion of tasks in line with operational requirements.

  8. Actively participate in meetings to discuss safety, maintenance status/tasks, mobilisation/demobilisation updates etc.

  10. Attend and participate in tool box talks and planning meetings when required.

  11. Carry out daily housekeeping of work place and tools to ensure a clean working environment.

  12. Liaise with Supervisor, team members and operations personnel as and when required to ensure all aspects of the schedule of work are discussed with the relevant parties to ensure effective communication to achieve safe completion of maintaining and the repairing of equipment for task completion.

Adhere to company policies including but not limited to: the Code of Conduct and Anti-Bribery policies, Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) policies, procedures and processes to ensure the highest ethical standards are maintained and exposure to liability or risk to Expro's reputation is minimised. If necessary, report possible violations or conflicts of interest

  14. Take an active part in quality improvement processes. Identify and report any deficiencies to supervisor and obtain authorisation for any deviations from standard procedures

  15. Responsible and accountable for own safety and safety of others.

  16. Demonstrate the personal application of QHSE procedures in daily performance and always follow the 12 Safety House Rules

  17. Ensure objectives set under Employee Development Plan are met as applicable.

Job Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Technical Qualification
  • Three (3) years previous work experience preferably in the related product line.

Preferred:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Two to three (2-3) years oilfield experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of oilfield rental tools or experience in oilfield equipment maintenance preferred.
  • Preferred: live within 50 miles of the employer's location and have reliable transportation.

Required:

  • The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Good working knowledge of tools and good mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to work in a shop environment.
  • Effectively communicates mechanical problems to shop leadership and assists in diagnosing and repairing issue(s).
  • Ability to meet physical demands of job duties and work effectively in a high paced work flow.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write English well enough to read technical documents and effectively communicate with team members.
  • Treats everyone with dignity and respect.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Be available as needed on-call outside of regular schedule within 1 hour of call-out.
  • Satisfactory results of pre-employment screening (ie background check/MVR, drug/alcohol, physical).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regularly stand, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, and smell.
  • Requires occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and exertion of force up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to see objects close, afar, and use peripheral vision is required.
  • Ability to hear and take verbal direction over loud ambient noises is imperative for the safe execution of job duties. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noises.
  • Works in a shop environment: regularly subject to cold, warm, wet or humid conditions resulting from weather or other various conditions.
  • Regularly work in area near fumes / air borne particles.
