The Wrangler / Property Manager is responsible for the daily care, management, and oversight of all horses and equine-related operations on the ranch.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide daily care for horses including feeding, grooming, training, and exercise
Maintain all horse tack, equipment, and transportation used for equine operations
Monitor horse health and promptly report any concerns or veterinary needs
Support and guide trail rides and other guest riding activities
Assist with the evaluation and acquisition of new horses as needed
In collaboration with the Property Manager, recruit, hire, and train additional equine staff
Promote and maintain a safe environment for guests and staff during horse-related activities
Inspect, repair, and maintain ranch fencing, coordinating with outside vendors when necessary
Assist with general property maintenance tasks as assigned, including:
Tree care, trimming, and removal
Weed and vegetation control
Field, pasture, and ditch maintenance
Irrigation system operation and upkeep
Maintenance of river access areas
Snow plowing and removal when required
Conduct routine inspections of ranch buildings and facilities
Provide assistance and support to the Shop Manager when needed
Assist with operations in the Wood Shop as requested
Essential Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of experience working with, handling, or managing horses
Experience leading or guiding trail rides
Knowledge of veterinary care and/or farrier work preferred
Physically capable of working long hours outdoors in varying weather conditions
Dependable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional demeanor
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Flexible and willing to assist with a wide range of ranch tasks as needed
Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service, professionalism, and hospitality
Hours, Location & Additional Information
Typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 9AM to 6PM, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed. Hours may increase during the summer season.
