JOB DESCRIPTION
WV Impact/Numeracy Instructional Coach
A. Responsibilities
Provide support for teachers in the implementation of evidence-based numeracy practices and provide instructional coaching, mentoring, modeling, and training to classroom teachers.
B. Relationship to Others
- Work under the direct supervision of the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and school principal.
- Work in a cooperative manner with administration and staff to provide coaching in mathematical instructional practices.

D. Qualifications
- Knowledge of K-5 WVCCR Standards, Mathematical Habits of Mind, and evidence-based practices such as the CRA (Concrete-Representational-Abstract) Pathway.
- Master's degree preferred
- Coaching experience preferred
- Minimum of five (5) successful years of K-5 teaching experience required
- Fully certified K-6 Elementary Teacher at the time of application
- Ability to attend mandatory position training July 20-22, 2026 in Charleston
- Experience facilitating student centered coaching cycles
- Experience with school-level data collection and accountability for grant reporting
- Experience in supporting adult learners
E. Functions and Duties
- Knowledge of Mathematical Habits of Mind, and evidence-based practices such as the CRA (Concrete-Representational-Abstract) Pathway for Numeracy Coach
- Maintain data collection and documentation of support of teachers.
- Follow duties set in consultation with WVDE.
- Follow WVDE monitoring protocols for initiative implementation.
- Facilitate meetings with teachers, principals, and Curriculum Director.
- Provide instructional support to teachers.
- Facilitate or participate in Professional Learning Communities.
- Support teachers in implementing evidence-based literacy practices.
- Model and coteach high yield strategies.
- Support collaborative planning with teachers.
- Collaborate with principals to strengthen Tier I instruction.
- Conduct classroom walkthroughs with constructive feedback.
- Provide targeted professional development (grant based or school-wide)
- Collaborate with other professional staff to enhance instruction.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 210 Days, This is a grant funded position for the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 school years.
EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated by the building principal/immediate supervisor and in accordance with WV State Code 18A-2-12 and Policy 5310.
SALARY based on experience and education level per county BOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.
