WWT Operator

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:The WWT Operator is responsible for all the functions as listed below. Operation of this area must be understood in total with the focus of utilizing the equipment to meet all the quality and productivity goals as outlined in our quality system. All work instructions must be followed as outlinedESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:• Review and monitoring of all Safety concerns in their area :TrainingEnforcement of Safety CommunicationMaintain Housekeeping Maintain environmental compliancePerform acid analysis as needed• Address all issues in their area:Work InstructionsTrainingVacation SchedulingCorrective ActionsAll employee related issues• Operate the plant in a manner that will ensure environmental compliance:Maintain sludge levelsPerform all necessary testingWork with AP operators as neededWork with maintenance personnel as neededWWT Functions• General overview of the WWT plant and AP Lines• General safety • Lock out tag out• ISO• AS-400• Forklift training• Time sheets• Time off requests• Accident/incident reports• Recycle program• Serious misconduct policy• Operation of the WTP Plant• Neutralization tanks• Lime silos and addition• Clarifiers• Waste acid tanks• Outfall• Sand filters• Computer control of the systems• Belt press operation• Sludge truck movement• Scanacon monitoring• SAFU system• Acid management• PH control• WWT checklist• Fie watch checks• Boiler water chemistry monitoring• Refill brine tanks as needed• pH monitoring and probe verification• Settling tests• Sludge level monitoring• Monitor Nitrites and adjust sulfamic as requiredSUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Other duties as assigned2. Participation in relevant continuous improvement programs.MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Minimum of High School Degree or Equivalent (GED).PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:• Mobility in plant• While performing the duties of (this job), the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, etc.• The employee is frequently required to make use of their hands for technical tasks• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds• Visual ability with or without correction• Communication abilities HEALTH AND SAFETY:1. Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations2. Follow Company safety rules3. Report the absence of or defect in any protective equipment or clothing to the Supervisor or Manager immediately4. Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that is required to be used or worn:a. Safety shoesb. Safety glassesc. Hearing protectiond. Hard HatSome areas may require additional personal protective equipment such as:e. Respirators; the respirator requires you to be clean shaven in order to comply with company policies and procedures as well as OSHA Regulations.f.Fire Retardant clothingg. Acid PPE5. Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy6. Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines7. Must follow all Environmental Policies and Regulations8. Maintain a clean and safe work areaWORK ENVIRONMENT:1.
