Local Travel X-Ray & Mammography Technologist – 13-Week Contract

Location: South of San Jose, California
Job Type: Local Travel Contract

Compensation: Up to $3,000 Weekly (Based on Experience)

Connected Health Care, a premier recruitment and staffing firm, is partnering with a respected healthcare client in San Jose, California to recruit an experienced X-Ray & Mammography Technologist for a 13-week local travel assignment. Candidates with additional CT experience are highly encouraged to apply, though CT certification and responsibilities are optional for this position.

X-Ray & Mammography Technologist Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic and mammography examinations according to physician orders and established protocols
  • Ensure accurate patient positioning and image acquisition while maintaining patient comfort and safety
  • Operate and maintain radiographic and mammography imaging equipment
  • Adhere to all radiation safety guidelines and departmental procedures
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) activities to maintain imaging excellence
  • Maintain compliance with Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations
  • Review imaging studies for quality and completeness prior to submission
  • Document procedures accurately within the electronic medical record system
  • Educate patients regarding imaging procedures and answer questions to ease concerns
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members
  • Assist with additional imaging modalities based on departmental needs and qualifications
  • Support a positive patient experience through exceptional customer service and compassionate care

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of Mammography experience
  • Strong knowledge of mammography procedures, positioning techniques, and breast imaging protocols
  • Experience with QA, QC, and MQSA standards preferred
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining exceptional patient care standards
  • Strong communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
  • Additional imaging specialties preferred
  • CT experience preferred but not required

Education Requirements

  • Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) approved school

Certification & License Requirements

  • Current California Basic Life Support (CPR-BLS) Certification
  • Current California State Radiologic Technologist Certificate issued by the California Department of Public Health, Radiologic Health Branch (CDPH RHB-CRT)
  • Current California State Mammography Permit issued by the California Department of Public Health, Radiologic Health Branch (CDPH RHB-CRT Mammography)
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registration in Radiography (ARRT-R)
  • Current ARRT Mammography Certification
  • Fluoroscopy/X-Ray Mammography Certification
  • ARRT Mammography certification and/or completion of 40 hours of mammography training meeting MQSA requirements
  • Documentation of 25 mammography examinations performed under direct supervision of an MQSA-qualified individual preferred
  • Minimum of 8 hours of training on the mammography modality utilized by the facility prior to independent operation

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of breast anatomy and physiology
  • Experience imaging patients with breast implants
  • Experience with digital mammography systems
  • Familiarity with MQSA compliance standards and documentation
  • Additional advanced imaging certifications considered a plus
