Job description
Responsible for explaining the X-ray procedure to patients, preparing patients for the procedure and positioning them for the best possible outcome. Additionally, employee will be required to assist DME functions and orthopedic medical assistant functions.
  • Greet patients is a professional and friendly manner
  • Room patients and verify medical history, medications, and reason for visit.
  • Take patient vitals
  • Provide information and assistance to patients
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations: keep rooms neat, clean and well stocked
  • Casting or splinting experience a plus
  • Assist the physicians and medical staff with procedures and treatments
  • Complete and document daily patient interactions
  • Produce quality radiographs to assist in the diagnosis of illnesses
  • Verify correct body part is examined
  • Align patient and equipment to obtain best possible position
  • Ensure the correct views are included in each exam
  • Educate patients regarding the procedure
  • Provide patients with copies of the images upon request
  • Confirm appropriate codes are used for billing
  • Ensure images are in the PACS system
  • Maintain quantity and quality control checks to assure X-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies
  • Clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining repairs needed to equipment.
  • Protect patient and other personnel from radiation hazards
  • Maintain radiographic supplies
 
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree, Graduation from a Radiology Technician Program
  • Two years of experience, preferably in orthopedic setting
  • Valid ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) license
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Understand CPT and ICD 10 Codes
  • Completing patient intakes, returning patient phone calls, completing patient tasks throughout the day.
  • Proficient knowledge of computer systems including electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients using excellent written and verbal skills
  • Friendly personality and ability to work well as a team member

  • Medical Imaging: 1 year (Preferred)
  • 1 year of Athena experience
  • 1 year of completing patient intakes.
License/Certification:
  • BLS Certification (Preferred)
  • ARRT Certification (Preferred)

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30-40 hrs per week
