As a Full Time XRT, you will provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services while supporting physicians, nurses, and clinical staff in delivering exceptional patient care. This hourly, full-time position combines hands-on radiologic work with essential medical assistant responsibilities, including patient preparation, basic clinical tasks, phlebotomy and maintaining a safe, efficient workflow. You will interact directly with patients of diverse backgrounds, ensuring they feel informed, comfortable, and supported throughout their imaging procedures, while adhering to all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
What You'll Do
Perform routine diagnostic X-ray examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols
Prepare patients for imaging procedures by verifying identity, explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring comfort and safety
Position patients correctly and operate X-ray equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
Apply radiation safety principles and follow all established guidelines to protect patients, self, and staff
Assist providers and nurses with basic clinical and medical assistant tasks as needed, such as obtaining vital signs and rooming patients
Accurately document procedures, patient information, and imaging details in the electronic medical record (EMR) or applicable systems
Maintain imaging rooms, equipment, and supplies in a clean, organized, and ready-for-use condition
Support patient flow by coordinating with front office, clinical staff, and providers to minimize wait times and improve patient experience
Follow infection control, safety, and privacy standards in compliance with organizational, state, and federal regulations
Participate in department meetings, training, and continuing education to stay current with best practices in radiologic technology and patient care
Qualifications
Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, to communicate effectively with patients and staff
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent education (as required by state regulations)
Current state licensure or certification as an X-ray Technologist (XRT), Radiologic Technologist, or equivalent, as applicable
Basic Medical Assistant skills and experience working in a clinical or ambulatory care setting
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or ability to obtain within required timeframe
Knowledge of X-ray equipment operation, imaging techniques, and radiation safety principles
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and basic computer skills
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow protocols and physician orders accurately
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a patient-centered approach
Ability to stand, walk, and assist with patient positioning and transfers for extended periods, and to lift or move equipment and patients as required
