X-Ray Technician

Work Hours: Wednesday: 2-8:30 pm, Thursday: 8:30 am-8:30 pm, Friday: 8:30 am-8:30 pm, Saturday: 9:00 am-5:00 pm

Responsibilities:

• Operate or oversee the operation of radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images.
• Prepare patients for radiological procedures and adhere to safety measures to ensure compliance with regulations and safety for patients and staff.
• Identify patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with patients and others.
• Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of treatment, and answering questions.
• Prepare patients for procedures by positioning them, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into position, and setting exposure factors.
• Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques.
• Maintain production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures.
• Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
• Ensure operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock and anticipating needed supplies.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by fulfilling regulatory CME requirements.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Complete yearly Age Specific Competency.
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• N.Y. State Dept. of Health Licensed Radiologic Technologist.
