X-Ray Technician

Summary:

• Hours: 8:00A - 4:00P

Responsibilities:

• Operate or oversee operation of radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images.
• Prepare patients for radiological procedures, ensuring compliance with safety measures and regulations.
• Identify patient service requirements and establish rapport to understand service needs.
• Gain patient cooperation by alleviating anxieties, explaining treatments, and answering questions.
• Position patients and adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors for procedures.
• Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques.
• Maintain production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures.
• Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
• Ensure operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock and anticipating needed supplies.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by fulfilling regulatory CME requirements and attending educational workshops.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Complete yearly Age Specific Competency.
• Other relevant duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technician.
• N.Y. State Dept. of Health Licensed Radiologic Technologist.
