Overview
Under the direction of a Radiologist, this role performs a variety of imaging procedures while ensuring adherence to patient safety protocols. Serves as the first point of contact for patients, supporting the successful delivery of imaging services. Actively participates in Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives.
Schedule: Saturday & Sunday
Shift: 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM
Hours: 15 hours per week
Responsibilities
Perform and obtain high-quality radiographs for inpatient, outpatient, emergency room, and portable examinations using approved imaging equipment
Ensure patient care and safety throughout imaging procedures, minimizing risks related to radiation exposure, electrical hazards, and equipment use in accordance with ALARA principles
Utilize Radiology Information System (RIS), EMR, and transport tracking systems to accurately track patient workflow and documentation
Assist Radiologists during fluoroscopy procedures and operate imaging equipment within the scope of licensure and training, including fixed and mobile X-ray and fluoroscopy units
Transport patients to and from X-ray rooms as needed, ensuring safe handling and positioning
Support the training and orientation of students, new hires, and ancillary personnel
Deliver age-appropriate patient care while adhering to departmental policies, quality assurance standards, infection control practices, and professional communication expectations
Perform imaging procedures in accordance with established departmental protocols while ensuring patient comfort and safety
Maintain accurate patient records and complete required clerical tasks, including image uploads, CD creation, and image transfers
Ensure a clean, safe, and functional imaging environment by performing safety and quality control checks, maintaining equipment and records, and reporting equipment issues as needed
Qualifications
Graduation from an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology required
Current ARRT certification required or eligibility to obtain within 90 days of hire
Current New York State license as a Registered Radiological Technologist required or eligibility to obtain within 6 months of hire
Current BCLS certification required (American Red Cross or American Heart Association); new employees must obtain within 6 months of hire
Current ARRT certification required in accordance with the Maimonides-1199 Agreement (effective October 1, 2021)
Completion of clinical experience required by ARRT to be registry eligible
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to speak, read, and write English as required for the position
Pay Range
USD $48.20 - USD $58.44 /Hr.
