X-Ray Technologist (Radiologic Technologist)
Job Summary:
The X-Ray Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic examinations to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. The technologist prepares patients for imaging procedures, operates radiographic equipment, produces high-quality diagnostic images, ensures radiation safety, and collaborates with the healthcare team to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Current ARRT (R) certification required.
Current state Radiologic Technologist license if required by the state of practice.
Current BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy.
Recent diagnostic radiology or acute care imaging experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine and specialized diagnostic X-ray examinations according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
Prepare, position, and educate patients for imaging procedures while ensuring comfort and safety.
Operate radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
Follow radiation safety principles and maintain compliance with ALARA standards.
Verify patient identity, procedure accuracy, and image quality before submission.
Maintain accurate documentation and electronic medical records.
Assist with equipment quality control and report equipment issues as needed.
Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Follow infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and regulatory standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
