Job Description – Yard, Delivery & Building Maintenance Associate
The Yard, Delivery & Building Maintenance Associate supports daily store operations by assisting customers, handling product deliveries, maintaining yard organization, and performing routine building and grounds maintenance. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with loading merchandise safely and efficiently
- Organize and maintain lumber yard, bulk product areas, and outdoor inventory
- Receive, unload, and stock incoming freight and vendor shipments
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (training provided if needed)
- Safely load, secure, and deliver customer orders including appliances, grills, and building materials
- Provide professional and friendly customer service during deliveries
- Maintain delivery vehicles including cleanliness and routine inspections
- Assist with routine building maintenance and minor repairs
- Help maintain store appearance inside and outside the facility
- Perform grounds maintenance including trash removal, seasonal upkeep, snow removal, and lawn care
- Assist with store projects, displays, and general facility improvements
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in indoor and outdoor environments
- Ability to work in varying seasonal weather conditions
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Basic mechanical or maintenance experience preferred but not required
