Yard Duty Supervisor & After School Coordinator

Job Summary: 

Under the supervision of the site administrator, the Yard Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance of safety and conduct of students as assigned. 

Examples of Duties:

Monitor children’s safety and behavior at different times during the day within a variety of school environments, e.g. restrooms, playground, hallways, classrooms, and cafeteria for the purpose of ensuring the safety and welfare of students. 

Help serve lunch and keep playground and lunch areas clean.

Handle minor first aid; follow emergency procedures for student accidents.

Check and report any play area and structure damage; check in and out the playground equipment. 

Consult with administration and teachers regarding problems with students.

Performs other related duties as assigned. 

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

Training and Experience: Experience working with children. High school diploma or G.E.D.

Knowledge: General knowledge of good communication skills and behavior modification techniques.

Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively; ability to learn and enforce site discipline policy.

Physical Effort/Work Environment: Moderate physical exertion.

Licenses and Certificates: A valid Class C California driver’s license or ID, TB test clearance, California Department of Justice fingerprint clearance. First aid and CPR certificates required.

Other Information: 
Responsible for the safety and conduct of students during recess, lunch, and after school periods. The schedule is 7.5 hours/day, 5 days/week, 10:30 AM to 5:45/6:00 PM including an unpaid lunch break.
