Home every night, NO weekend work, and $25 an hour on the clock
instead of chasing miles. Dedicated yard hostler and local work
for a major retail customer in Blue Springs. 2 seats open.
THE POSITION
- Freight: dedicated dry van
- Equipment: spotter unit (yard hostler)
- Combination of yard spotting and local driving
- No unload — you don't touch the freight
- Solo only (team seats are closed on this account)
PAY
- $25.00 per hour
- Average $1,000 per week
- Weekly pay
HOME TIME
- HOME EVERY NIGHT
SCHEDULE
- Two shifts open: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
- NO weekend work
- Holidays: rarely — only when the customer is running freight
- Hours are driven by customer need and shift with the season

Four things you should know going in. This is yard work, which
means you're outside in it — Missouri winters are cold and the
weather doesn't stop the operation. Your hours move with the
customer's volume: peak season runs August through November and
some weeks push nine-hour days, then it slows back down after.
Hours over 40 in a week are paid at straight time, not time and
a half. And it's a spotter unit, not a highway truck, so if you
want a hood and a sleeper this isn't it. In exchange: you are
home every single night, you have your weekends, holidays are
rare, you never touch freight, and you're paid by the hour so
your check doesn't depend on how the miles fall.

ORIENTATION
- Virtual orientation available, typically 30 minutes to 2 hours
- Road test and safety review required on select applications

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

AGE & LICENSE
- 21 years or older
- Valid Class A CDL
- Must have held a U.S. driver's license the last 12 consecutive months
- Current DOT medical card (new DOT physical required at hire)
- No endorsements required for this position
EXPERIENCE — one of the following
- 6 months OTR experience within the last 12 months, OR
- 12 months OTR experience within the last 5 years
DRIVING RECORD
- No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years
- No serious traffic violations in the last 12 months
- Speeding 30+ MPH over = automatic disqualification for 3 years
- Original ticket copies required for all citations in the last 3 years
ACCIDENTS
- No more than 1 DOT preventable accident in the last 2 years
- No major preventable accidents in the last 5 years
- No more than 3 preventable incidents in the last 2 years
- Preventable rear-end accident = 1 year disqualification
- Accident reports required for ALL accidents in the last 5 years
WORK HISTORY
- No more than 4 driving jobs in the last 12 months
- No more than 1 safety-related termination in the last 5 years
DUI / DWI
- No DUI/DWI in a commercial vehicle — ever
- No DUI/DWI in the last 10 years while holding a CDL or CLP
- No DUI/DWI in the 5 years before obtaining your CDL or CLP
- No multiple DUI/DWIs
DRUG & ALCOHOL TESTING
- No failed or refused drug tests — no exceptions
- Hair AND urine testing required, both must be passed
- No drug-related convictions in the last 5 years
CRIMINAL HISTORY
- Violence, theft, drug, and sex-related offenses reviewed individually

verification, criminal background review, MVR, Clearinghouse query,
drug testing, and final approval.
